FIRM PROFILE 25th ANNIVERSARY Founded in 1993, today Steel Dynamics is one of the largest and most diversified domestic steel producers and metals recyclers in the United States. We are extremely proud of our accomplishments and look forward to celebrating our 25th anniversary. We are thankful to all that have contributed to the safety and performance of our growing company. We differentiate ourselves through an exceptional and unique operating culture, a diversified and value-added product portfolio, a low cost operating base, and an entrepreneurial spirit that permeates our entire organization. These factors drive us forward, and create long-term value for all those involved with our company — and we thank you. 2018 The entire Steel Dynamics team delivered a tremendous performance during 2018. Our strategic growth and market positioning over the last number of years was integral to our record performance. We achieved numerous milestones and performed at the top of our industry both operationally and financially. On many measures, 2018 was a record year. Our steel and fabrication operations achieved record annual shipments, increasing 2018 consolidated revenues to a record $11.8 billion. We expanded profit margins without our steel and metals recycling operations and achieved record annual consolidated operating income of $1.7 billion and record net income of $1.3 billion. We generated record cash flow from operations of $1.4 billion, and record EBITDA of $2.0 billion. With the strength of our continued cash flow generation and execution of our long-term strategy, we believe we are in a strong position for continued growth. We have numerous organic investments underway, including our planned Southwester U.S. Flat Roll Steel Mill to be located in Sinton, Texas. The facility represents the “next generation” in EAF steelmaking capability and we are very excited to be the pioneers once again. The facility is planned to produce 3.0 million tons of high-grade flat roll steel, with value-added finishing lines, and employee 600 people, for an estimated investment of $1.9 billion. We must always remember, safety is our number one value, and we must be ever aware of our surroundings and those around us. www.steeldynamics.com
